Walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping and beaches, the Old Bakery Inn is located across the street from where the ferry comes in and next door to the iconic National hotel. Built in 1912 by my great, great grandfather, Frank Payne Sr., as an annex to The National hotel which was owned by his cousin Ray Lewis. The first level of the building was the Post Office and at the time Frank's father, Edward Sands, was the post master. It later became a bakery hence the name Old Bakery Inn.
Fishing boats lined up down at Old Harbor dock at sunset. Watch first hand as the local fishermen bring in their catch. Stroll over to Ballard's for some live entertainment and dinner on the beach. On the way back stop and grab an ice cream and enjoy the rest of the evening on your deck.
